Qualifications & experience

 

  • Builders/Supervisors licence or building trade qualification or willingness to obtain
  • Great people skills, particularly in relation to contractor engagement and working with tenants and colleagues from other teams to deliver organisational outcomes
  • Strong understanding of technical property and maintenance issues and relevant legislation
  • Highly organised with the ability to work autonomously whist building knowledge and experience
  • Relevant project management qualifications or experience in a similar role
  • Tech savvy including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. SPM Assets or similar software experience highly regarded

 

Tasks & responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for management of the maintenance program and budget, including urgent, planned and some vacancies
  • Actively ensure that vacancies and maintenance times are completed within regulatory timeframes
  • Liaise with contractors and tenants to coordinate, project manage and inspect maintenance and refurbishments
  • Responsible for contractor management and tender development for Westside’s maintenance program
  • Inspect homes to ensure they are safe and maintained
  • Use the data collected from inspections to a 10 year maintenance plan
  • Apply project management principles and methodologies to effectively manage assets
  • Planning and delivery of Asset Management that best utilises available resources whilst meeting the needs of tenants
  • Proactively participate in process improvements aligned to improve efficiencies and best practice principles

The Opportunity:

As the Community Engagement Coordinator your aim will be to increase the social and economic participation of the people we work with and the communities in which they live; planning, coordinating, and delivering community development and tenant engagement initiatives, activities and events. The key to your success in this role will be your ability to use your strong relationship-building skills to engage with tenants. Likewise, your ability to communicate in a supportive and collaborative manner will be highly valued in assisting tenants to engage and connect with their community. Additionally, you will support those living with complex needs to create sustainable tenancies by improving access to relevant services through strengthened interagency links and referral pathways to better connect tenants with service providers.

Our ideal candidate will possess a sound understanding of Community Development and Engagement Principles and experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating community development programs and projects that enhance tenant social and economic participation. The Contract Manager is responsible for the account and contract management, liaison, monitoring of performance and reporting on the delivery of contracts, projects and other commitments of Community Housing Providers (CHPs).

Liaising and working with other SA Housing Authority divisions, Government and non-Government agencies and other key stakeholders, the role is responsible for undertaking complex projects and program management work, including policy development and implementation, inter-departmental and stakeholder negotiations to achieve improved outcomes within the Community Housing Sector to support a robust community housing sector and support the effective, efficient, and innovative delivery of social and affordable housing projects in line with the Authority’s Strategic Plan.

he Program Support Officer will work collaboratively with and provide a high level of administrative project support to the Program Maintenance team. The primary purpose of the role is to provide excellent customer service to contractors, suppliers and tenants and ensure that contractors and suppliers meet compliance and project work requirements.

Key to your success in this role will be your relevant project experience, communication and analytical skills, a high level of accuracy, and exceptional stakeholder management and project management skills. Likewise, your capability to manage effectively in a fast-paced working environment whilst working as a flexible, collaborative, and positive member of the team.

Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric focus and have demonstrated experience in providing project support within a medium-sized organisation from the Community Housing sector or Property sector.
